JIM DAVIS -- Much of my adult life I have enjoyed artistic endeavors in the medium of wood. I enjoy learning about tools, techniques, finishing... and sharing these ideas with others. Carving whimsical characters and such, Santa, elves, wood spirits are what I prefer. I figure if you carve things that no one has ever seen then who is to say they are wrong. Though I am primarily a hand carver, I also enjoy woodturning and using power carving, wood burning, and engraving to "enhance" my boxes and bowls. Shirley & George Will
Shirley & George Will are residents of Hammond, Louisiana. George has been carving for over twenty-five years, and Shirley for more than eight. George specializes in caricature carving in the round and Shirley in relief carving. They have been teaching a carving group at their church for more than five years. Their class is an introduction to wood carving with an opportunity for some hands-on experience. Tools and materials are available at the class.
